The Annual Xiaotu Conference of Science and Engineering with Open Participation
(XTOP) is now accepting submissions in the fields of Science and Engineering from
university graduate students.
The conference will be held at Yuan Ze University in Taoyuan Taiwan from January 14, 2005 to January 15, 2005.
Those wishing to give research presentations at the conference should submit
electronically to
papersubmission@xiaotu.ca
prior to the conference deadline.
Contributed Papers
A completed electronic submission will include the following:
- The title of the Email should contain your name in English and your university affiliation. (i.e. John Smith, Yuan Ze University)
- Information about the talk itself should be submitted as an attachment in Microsoft word format (doc file) for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings. All submissions must follow the format of the
style sheet with the paper size set to A4 and the
page margins set to 2.5 cm on all sides. An example abstract is included here. This attached file should contain:
- Title
- Author names and affiliations. Presenter's name should be first.
- 35-word Abstract: This abstract should be a brief summary of the paper's
topic.
- Authors are asked to indicate which of the several broad categories best
characterizes their paper. If your paper falls into the area of Optoelectronics
we suggest that you use the OCIS scheme
published by the Optical Society of America (OSA}.
If your work falls into Electrical Physics we suggest you use the
PACS scheme.
published by American Institute of Physics (IAP). If your work does not fit into one of these
catagories, you may need to use the INSPEC scheme
published by the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE). Unfortunately the INSPEC scheme
is only partly defined online (i.e. you must go to the library to check)
Adherence to the instructions for preparation of the abstract and summary
is imperative. It is incumbent on the authors to obtain appropriate approval
to present their work to this class.
Presentation:
All contributed presentations are 15 minutes. Each presentation will have a break for questions during the last 2-3 minutes.
A computer (Windows-XP) with USB port and an LCD projector will be provided in
the conference room.
Post-deadline papers
A limited number of papers of exceptional quality will be accepted as post-deadline papers. Post-deadline papers should be attached to an email explaining the unique significance of these results and the reason the paper was not submitted as a regular talk.
